Melody is at the core of all music, and harmony helps support and make melodies stronger. This workshop will be helpful for vocalists, electric guitarists, and anyone who wants to learn more about singing and playing lead lines.

How do we pull together what everyone has practiced and rehearse well? We will touch on creating a great in-ear or monitor mix, learning to play with a click track, and other techniques to make the most of rehearsals.

Starting with a discussion of purpose, we’ll explore effective mixing technique and look at what makes a great mix for contemporary worship.

Let’s talk about slides: how to design and create them, and then how to present/run them. Come with your questions (including samples!) and we’ll tackle them together.

We’ll explore switching techniques to grow intentionality and technical excellence to help ensure smooth transitions and keeping viewers focused on the service.

We all know that communication is so important, but how can we constructively help each other well? We’ll explore how we can build a culture of commnication with love and candor as we sharpen one another, and how to model that as a leader.

How can we play together rhythmically to make music feel right? The “rhythm section” includes drums, bass, guitars, and keys, so we can all learn more about rhythic playing and feel. Joash and Kenzie will give tips and ideas on how to make a rythm section find that all important groove.

How can we create complimentary layers and tones when we arrange songs and parts across the band? This workshop will be especially helpful for electric guitarists and keys players, but great for anyone thinking about how we create sonic space to best serve a song.

We’ve all heard the comments about how complicated out soundboards look, so let’s make sure we know how to get the most out of them. Starting with the basics, let’s discuss gain structure, signal routing, equalization and compression.

This workshop will explore effective stage lighting for worship – balancing visibiliy and atmosphnere, discussing the importance of wash lighting, backlighting, and the role of colour and movement.

Familiarize youself with strategies for live camera operation to bring your livestream broadcast to the next level.

How do we live out our calling as people who imagine and create, and what does it have to do with worship? We’ll explore how to deepen our imaginations, how we embrace improvising through life’s seasons of joy and suffering, and how we can faithfully create beauty that tells God’s story.
